Search by name

1.Press DIRp in idle mode to show the first listing in the directory.

2.When an entry appears, press the dialing keys (0-9) to start a name search. The directory shows the first name beginning with the first letter associated with the dialing key if there is an entry in the directory beginning with that letter. Press CIDq or DIRp to scroll through the directory.

3.To see other names starting with the letters on the same dialing key, keep pressing the key. The names appear in alphabetical order based on the first letter in the name.

For example, if you have the names Jennifer, Jessie, Kevin and Linda in your directory:

If you press 5 (JKL) Jessie.

If you press 5 (JKL)

If you press 5 (JKL)

If you press 5 (JKL) beginning with 5 or

If you press 5 (JKL)

once, you see Jennifer. Press CIDq and you see

twice, you see Kevin. three times, you see Linda.

four times, you see 5 and then the directory entry the next closest entry after 5.

five times, you see Jennifer again.

NOTE: If there is no name matching the first letter of the key you press, the directory shows a name matching the following letters of the key.
