connection is now encrypted. Each computer using your
wireless network will need to use the new key.

connect ion, y ou wil l have to re -conn ect to the
Router after changing any security settings.
note: Some ol der n etwork ing h ardwar e supp orts
only WEP encr yptio n. If y our ol der co mpute rs can not
connect to yo ur net work, try 12 8-bit or 64 -bit W EP, or
seek software updates from their manufacturers.
I am hav ing di fficul ty set ting up Wire d equi valent
Privacy (WeP) security on my Router.
1. Log in to your Rout er. Visit http://router/ with your w eb bro wser.
Click on the “Login” button in the top right-hand corner of the
screen. You wil l be a sked to enter your passwo rd. If you ha ve neve r
set a password, leave the “Password” field blank and click “Submit”.
2. Click “W ireles s” in the le ft-ha nd men u. The n
click “Security” just below that.
3. Select the “128-bit WEP” option.
4. You may ty pe in a WEP k ey manu ally, o r gen erate o ne fro m
a passp hrase. Type a phrase in th e “Pa ssphra se” f ield a nd
click t he “Ge nerate ” but ton. A WEP key is co mpose d of 26
hexadecimal digits (0–9, A–F.. For examp le, C3 03 0F AF
4B B2 C3 D4 4B C3 D4 E E 74 is a valid 128-bit WE P key.
