Your new R outer came p re-c onfigu red wi th a n etwor k name and
passwor d, foun d pri nted on an at tache d card . All client s mus t use t his
network name and password to connect wirelessly to your Router.
You will need t o find the n etwork sett ings o n your clien t, sel ect th e
network name printe d on t he car d fro m the l ist of avail able n etwor ks,
and enter the password when prompted to join the wireless network.
Does the Router support Wireless
Protected access (WPa) security?
The Rou ter sh ips wi th WPA/ WPA2 s ecuri ty tur ned o n.
Windows XP and some older netwo rk har dware may
require a softwa re update to suppo rt WPA/WPA2.
I am having difficulty setting up WPa security on my Router.
1. Log in to your Rout er by visiting htt p://router/ with your web browser.
Click on the “Login” button in the top right-hand corner of the
screen. You wil l be a sked to enter your passwo rd. If you ha ve neve r
set a password, leave the “Password” field blank and click “Submit”.
2. Click “W ireles s” in the le ft-ha nd men u. The n
click “Security” just below that.
3. Select the “WPA/WPA2” option.
4. Enter a p asswor d. Thi s can be fro m 8– 63 cha racte rs of your ch oice,
includi ng spa ces an d pun ctuati on, OR a 64- digit hexad ecimal
number (using only the numbers 0–9 and letters A–F).
