USB DIRECTORS RS-232

5.1.2DETERMINING THE LEVEL OF USB SUPPORT

If you have an earlier version of Windows 95 than OSR2.1, you will need to upgrade to a more recent version of Windows. Otherwise, to determine if your system supports USB, take the following steps:

1.Insert the Black Box driver CD into your CD-ROM drive.

2.In the START menu, select RUN.

3.Type “X:\Win95\usbready” (where “X” is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive).

One of two USB System Checker dialog boxes will appear. If your system does not support USB, the text in the dialog box will read, “This system DOES NOT currently support USB!” If you see this, take the steps described in Section 5.1.4. If your system does support USB, the text in the dialog box will read, “This system DOES have support for USB,” and you may continue with the Windows 95 installation instructions for your USB Director RS-232.
