Fax/Tel You can receive faxes and telephone calls. Do not use this
mode if you are using a telephone answering device (TAD).
Fine resolution Resolution is 203 x 196 dp i. It is used for sm all print
and graphs.
Gray scale The shades of gray avai lable for copying and faxing
photographs.
Group number A combination of One-Touch and Sp eed-Dial
numbers that are stored on a On e-Touch key or in a Speed-Dial
location for Broadcast ing.
Help list A printout of the complete Me nu table that you can use to
program your machine when you do not have the User’s Guide
with you.
Fax Journal Lists information about th e last 200 incoming and
outgoing faxes. TX means Transmit. RX means Receive.
Journal Period The pre-programmed time period between
automatically printe d Fax Journal Reports. You c an print the Fax
Journal on demand without interrupting the cycle.
LCD (liquid crystal display) The display screen on the machine
that shows interactive messag es during On-Screen Programmi ng
and shows the date and time wh en the machine is idle.
Manual fax When you lift the ha ndset of your external tel ephone or
press Tel/R so you can hear the receivi ng fax machine answer
before you press Mono Start or Colour Start to begin
transmission.
Menu mode Programming mode for ch anging your machine’s
settings.
MFL-Pro Suite Turns your machine in to a printer and a scanner
and enables PC faxing using the machine.
OCR (optical character recognition) The bundled ScanSoft®
TextBridge® software application co nverts an image of tex t to text
you can edit.
One-Touch Keys on the machine’s control panel where you can
store numbers for easy dialling. You can store a second number
on each key if you press Shift and the One-Touch Key togeth er.
