Figure14-4 Card Level Overview of G-Series One Port Transponder Mode Application
A G-Series card configured as a transponder operates quite differe ntly than a G-Series card configured for SDH. In an SDH configuration, the G-Series card receives and transmits Gigabit Ethernet traffic from the Ethernet ports and GBICs on the front of the card. This Ethernet traffic is multiplexed on and off the SDH network through the cross-connect card and the OC- N card (Figure 14-5).
