Changing the Command History Buffer Size
Bydefault, the switch records ten command lines in its history buffer. You can alter this number for a current
terminalsession or forall sessionson aparticular line. Thisprocedure is optional.

PurposeCommand or Action
Changesthe number of command lines that the switch records during
thecurrent terminal session in the privileged EXEC mode. You can
configurethe size from 0through 256.

Recalling Commands
Torecall commands from the history buffer, perform one of the actions listed in this table. These actions are
optional.
Thearrow keys function only on ANSI-compatible terminals such as VT100s.Note

Step 1
Returnsto more recent commands in the history buffer after recalling commands
withCtrl-P or the up arrow key. Repeat the key sequence to recall successively
morerecent commands.
