BEVEL LOCK KNOB
The bevellock knobsecurely locks yourcompound
mitersaw at desired hovel angles. Positive stop
adjustmentscrewshave beenprovided on each side
ofthe saw arm. These adjustmentscrewsare for
makingfine adjustmentsat 0° and45 °. Sea pages 18

ELECTRIC BRAKE
Anelectric brake has been providedto quicklystop
bladerotation afterthe switch isreleased.
FENCE
The fenceon your compound miter saw has been
providedto holdyour workpiecesecurelyagainst
whenmaking all cuts.
SELF-RETRACTING LOWER BLADEGUARD
The lowerblade guard is made ofshock-resistant,
see-throughplasticthat providesprotectionfrom each
sideof the blade. Itretracts over the upper blade
guardas the saw is lowered into theworkpiece.
MOUNTING HOLES
See Figure 7.
Yourcompound miter saw shouldbe permanently
mountedto a firm supportingsurface suchas work-
bench.Four 7/16 in,bolt holes have been providedin
the saw basefor this purpose.Each of the four
mountingholesshould be belted securelyusing 7/16
in. machinebolts,lock washers, and hex nuts (not
included).Beltsshould be of sufficientlengthto
accommodatethe saw base, lockwashers, hex nuts,
andthe thicknessof the workbench.
Tightenall four belts securely.
The holepattern for an 20 in.x 30 in. workbenchis
shownin Figure 7. Carefully checkthe workbench
aftermounting to make sure that no movement can
occurduringuse. If anytipping, sliding,or walking is
noted,secure the workbenchto the floor before
operating.

yoursaw, is thickenough toaccommodatethe nails
beingused.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Yoursaw has a precisionbuiltelectricmotor. It should
beconnected to a power supply that Is 120 volts,
60 Hz,AC only (normal household current). Donot
operatethis toolon direct current(DC). A substantial
voltagedropwill causea lossof power and the motor
willoverheat, if your tooldoes not operate when
pluggedinto an outlet,double-checkthe power
supply.
