TO MAKE A COMPOUND CUT WITHYOUR MITER SAW:
Pulloutthe lock pinand lift saw arm to its full
height.
Loosenthe miterlock handle. Rotatethe miterlock
handleapproximatelyone-halftom to the leftto
loosen.
Pressthe miterlock platedown withyourthumb
and hold.
• Rotatethe controlarm untilthe pointeralignswith
thedesired angle on the miterscale.
Release themiter lock plate.
Note- You can quicklylocate0 °, 15°, 22-1/2 °,
31.52°, and 45 ° left or rightby releasing the miter
lockplate as you rotate the controlarm. The miter
lockplate willseat itself inone of the positivestop
notches,locatedin mitertable frame.
Tightenthe miterlock handlesecurely.
AWARNING: Toavoid sedous persor_| k_jury,
alwaystightenthe miter lockhandle securely
beforemakinga cut. Failure to do so couldresult
inmovement ofthe controlarm or miter table
whilemaking a cut.
• Loosenthe bevel lockknoband move the saw arm
tothe left tothe desired bevelangle.
Bevelanglescan be set from 0°to 45".
Foryour convenience thereis a double scale
locatedon the mountingbracket.See Figure27. ff
one side becomesdifficultto readas you move the
sawarm to the left, simplyreferto the other side.
Alignthe indicatorpointforthe side you choose
withthe desired angle.
Oocethe saw arm has been set at the desired
angle,securelytighten the bevel lock knob.
Recheckmiter anglesetting. Make a test cut in
scrapmaterial.
Placethe workplecefiat on the miter table with
oneedge securelyagainstthe fence. If the hoard
iswarped, place the convex side against the
fence. Ifthe concaveedge of a boardcould
collapse onthe hiade atthe endof the cut,
jammingthe blade. See Figures33 and 34.
When cuttinglong piecesof lumberor molding,
supporttheoppositeend of the stockwith aroller
standor witha work surfacelevel with the sew
table.
Alignthe cutting lineon the workplecewiththe
edgeof saw blue.
Graspthe stock firmly withone hand and secure it
againstthe fence. Use the optionalwork clampor
a C-clampto secure the workpiecewhen possible.
