blade squareness ofthe saw blade to the miter
table at both0° and 45°angles.
Yoursaw has three scaleindicators,two on either
sideof the bevel scaleand one on the miter scale.
Aftersquaring adjustmentshave been made, it may
be necessaryto loosenthe indicatorsscrewsand
resetthem to zero.
PIVOT ADJUSTMENTS
Note: These adjustmentswere made at the factory
andnormallydo not require readjustment.

TRAVEL PIVOT ADJUSTMENT

The saw arm shouldrise completelyto the up
position byitself.
Ifthe saw arm does not raise by itself or ifthere is
playin the pivotjoints, have saw repairedby a
qualified servicetechnicianat your nearest Sears
storetoavoid riskof personal injury.
BEVEL PIVOT ADJUSTMENT
Yourcompoundmiter saw shouldbevel easily by
looseningthebevel lock knob and tiltingthe saw
armto the left.
If movementis tightor if there is play inthe pivot,
havesaw repaired by a qualified service techni-
cianat your nearest Sears store to avoid dsk of
personalinjury.
DEPTH STOP
The depthstop limitsthe blade'sdownward travel. It
allowsthe blade to gobelow the miter table enoughto
maintainfullcuttingcapacities. The depth stop posi-
tions the blade 114in. from the miter table support.
Note: The mitertable supportis located insidemiter
table.
The depthstop is factoryset to providemaximum
cuttingcapacityforthe 12 in. saw blade providedwith
yoursaw. Therefore, the saw blade provided should
neverneed adjustments.
However,when the diameter of the blade has been
reduceddue to sharpening,it may be necessary to
adjust thedepth stopto provide maximumcuffing
capacity.Also,when anew blade is installed,it Is
necessarytocheck the clearance ofthe blade to the
mitertable supportbefore starting the saw. Make
adjustmentsifneeded.
DEPTH STOP ADJUSTMENTS

Unplugyour saw.
WARNING: Failureto unplugyour saw could
resultin accidentalstartingcausing possible
seriouspersonalinjury.
To adjust thedepth stop use a 17 mm wrenchor
adjustablewrenchand loosen the hex nutat the
rearof the mitersaw arm.
Usethe 5 mm hex key wrench providedto adjust
thedepth stop adjustmentscrew. The sawblade
islowered by turningthe screwcounter-clockwiso
and raisedby tuming the screw clockwise.
