Depressthe spindlelockbuttonand rotatethe
bladebelt until the spindlelooks. SeeFigure 12.
Usingthe bladewrench provided, loosenand
removethe blade belt.
Note: The blade belt has left hand threads. Tum
bladebelt clockwiseto loosen.
Remove outerblade washer. Do not remove
innerblade washer.

Wipeadrop of oil onto inner bladewasher and
outerblade washerwhere theycontact the blade.
&WARNING: If innerblade washer has been
removed,replace it before placing blade on
spindle.Failure todo so couldcause an accident
sinceblade will not tightenproperly.
Fitsaw blade insidelower blade guardand onto
spindle.The blade teeth point downwardat the
frontof saw as shown infigure 1I.
_k CAUTION: Alwaysinstall the blade with the
bladeteeth and the arrow printedon the side of
theblade pointingdown atthe frontof the saw.
The directionof blade rotationisalso stamped
withan arrow on the upper blade guard.
Replaceouter blade washer. The double "D"fiats
onthe blade washers align withthe fiats on the
spindle.
Depressspindle lockbutton and replace blade
belt.
Note: The blade bolt has lefthand threads. Turn
bladebolt counterclockwise to tighten.
Tightenblade belt securely.
Removethe blade wrenchand storeit ina safe
placefor future use.
Replacethe lower blade guard and blade belt
cover.
Retightenphillipsscrew securingblade boltcover.
Tightenscrew securely. See Figure 11.
_k WARNING: To prevent damage tothe spindle
lock,always allow motorto come to a comPlete
stopbefore engaging spindlelock. Make sure the
spindlelockbutton is not engaged before
reconnectingsew intopower source.
Yourcompoundmiter sawhas been adjusted at the
factoryfor making veryaccurate cuts. However, some
of thecomponents mighthave beenjarred out of
alignmentduringshipping. Also,over a periodof time,
readjustmentwillprobably become necessarydue to
wear. After unpackingyoursaw, checkthe following
adjustmentsbefore you beginusing saw. Makeany
readjustmentsthat are necessaryand peflodically
checkthe parts alignmentto makesure that your saw
iscuttingaccurately.
A WARNING: Your saw shouldnever be
connectedto power supplywhen you are
assemblingparts, makingadjustments,installing
or removingblades, orwhen not inuse.
Disconnectingyoursaw will prevent accidental
startingthat could cause serious injury.
