Removing the Coin-Cell Battery

CAUTION: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS settings before removing the coin-cell battery.

Prerequisites

1Remove the base cover. See "Removing the Base Cover" on page 10.

2Remove the battery. See "Removing the Battery" on page 12.

3Remove the hard-drive. See "Removing the Hard Drive" on page 16.

4Remove the wireless card. See"Removing the Wireless Card" on page 19.

5Remove the keyboard. See "Removing the Keyboard" on page 21.

6Remove the bottom cover. See "Removing the Bottom Cover" on page 25.

Procedure

Using a plastic scribe, gently pry out the coin-cell battery out of the battery socket on the system board.
