Replacing the Hard Drive

CAUTION: To avoid data loss, do not remove the hard drive while the computer is in Sleep or On state.

CAUTION: Hard drives are extremely fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.

Procedure

1Align the screw holes on the hard drive with the screw holes on the hard-drive bracket.

2Replace the screws that secure the hard drive to the hard-drive bracket.

3Connect the hard-drive cable to the hard-drive assembly.

4Align the screw holes on the hard-drive assembly with the screw holes on the bottom cover.

5Replace the screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the bottom cover.

1Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 13.

2Replace the base cover. See "Replacing the Base Cover" on page 11.
