8. Turn the computer upside-down.

NOTE: Before proceeding, ensure that the main battery has been removed from the system (see Before Working Inside Your Computer). One of the palm rest screws is located in the battery bay.

NOTE: Open the Docking Door. Two of the palm rest screws are located beneath this door (see Removing the Docking Door.)

9. Remove the 11 screws that secure the palm rest.

NOTICE: Carefully separate the palm rest from the base to avoid damage to the palm rest.

10.Turn the computer top-side up, slightly raise the palm rest, and then disconnect the touch-pad cable connector from the system board.

11.Continue to raise the palm rest, and then disconnect the USB control cable from the system board. Remove the palm rest.
