Program Description TextThisisa32‐characterASCIItextfieldthatallowsthemetadataauthortoenteradescription
oftheaudioprogram.Forexample,thisfieldmaycontainthenameoftheprogram(Movie
ChannelPromo),adescriptionoftheprogramsource(FootballMainFeed),ortheprogram
language(Danish).

Channel Mode Thisparameter(alsoknownasaudiocodingmode)indicatestheactivechannelswithinthe
encodedbitstreamandaffectsboththeencoderandconsumerdecoder.Thisparameter
instructstheencoderwhichinputstouseforthisparticularprogram;ittellsthedecoder
whatchannelsarepresentinthisprogramsothedecodercandelivertheaudiotothe
correctspeakers.
ThesettingisdescribedasX/Y,whereXisthenumberoffrontchannels(Left,Center,
Right)andYthenumberofrearorsurroundchannels.
TheavailabilityofcertainchannelmodesdependsontheDolbyDigitalencoderdatarate
andwhethertheLFEchannelispresent.Forexample,youcan’thaveamonostreamwith
anLFEchannel(1.1)ora3/2streamat96kbps.Appropriatedataratesareshowninthe
definitionofeachsetting.
