Thebenefitofshort‐termmeasurementisthatitallowstheoperatortoseeshort‐term
variationsinloudnesslevelwithinaprogram.Manyskilledaudiooperatorsprefertouse
theshort‐termmeasurement,astheyfindtheinformationonnear‐termdynamicstobe
veryusefulwhenmixingorproducingaprogram.Theseoperatorsarecapableof
managingoverallprogramloudnessbycontinuouslyreadingandinterpretingthe
short‐termmeasure2.
