4.4 Troubleshooting Metadata ProblemsTheDP570hasseveralstatusindicatorstohelptroubleshootmetadata‐relatedproblems.
Thefront‐panelstatusdisplayshowsthemetadatasourceasExternalifanymetadata
sourceissettoexternal.
Metadata InputindicatorsonboththeDP570frontpanelandintheDolbyRemote570
softwareprovidestatusinformation.Theindicatorsaregreenanytimeavalidmetadata
signalispresent,whetherornotitisbeingused.Theyturnredonlywhenanexternalport
isinuseandthereisaproblemwiththemetadatasignal.
TheMetadata ParamssubmenuundereithertheSetuporstatusmenuonthe
front‐paneldisplaycanalsobeusedtodeterminethecurrentsourceforaparameterand
itscurrentvalue.
4.5 Outputting MetadataYoucanchoosetosendmetadatafromtheDP570todownstreamdevicesusingthe
Metadata Outputconnectorontherearpanel.Theframerateforoutputmetadataissetby
thereceivedvideoreferencesignalandislockedtothebeginningofthevideoframe.
4.6 Monitoring DownmixesTheDP570allowsyoutoauditionvariousdownmixesbeforefinalizingthecontent.
Previewingdownmixconditionsisessentialinprovidingthebestpossibleaudioqualityin
listeningenvironmentswithfewerspeakers.Selectadownmixmodeandmakeany
necessaryadjustmentstothemetadataorthesourcemixaccordingly.
Youcansetupseparatesetsofspeakersfordifferentdownmixconditions,sendingastereo
downmixtotheleftandrightspeakersinyour5.1listeningenvironment,thentoa
differentsetofstereospeakersjustbychangingyourspeakerselectionsetting.Itisagood
ideatohavealow‐gradealternatespeakerconfigurationsetuptomonitorthestereoand
monodownmixestomakesureprogramcontentplaysappropriatelyin
“fidelity‐challenged”environments.
Tomonitorthevarious downmixesintheDolbyRemote570application,clickanyofthe
buttonsshowninFigure4‐3,thenadjustsettingsonthemetadatatabsasnecessary.
