Initial Settings

Once the initial settings have been completed, the player can always be operated under the same conditions (especially DVDs). The settings will be retained in the memory even after switching to standby mode.

=Press AV/SETUP to display initial setup menu.

=Press5or6to select GENERAL SETUP item.

Now you can start GENERAL SETUP.

1. Setting TV TYPE

=Press5or6to select TV TYPE item. =Press 4 to access option item. =Press5or6to select option item.

=Press ENTER to confirm and press 3to return.

PAL: force PAL system output.

NTSC: force NTSC system output.

AUTO: automatically identify system.

2. Setting TV DISPLAY

=Press5or6to select TV DISPLAY item. =Press 4 to access option item. =Press5or6to select option item.

=Press ENTER to confirm and press 3to return.

NORMAL/PS: It displays the wide screen image as full screen with left and right edges automatically cut off.

NORMAL/LB: Select this mode when connecting to a conventional TV. When playing back a wide screen-DVD disc, it displays the wide picture with black bands at the top and bottom of screen.

WIDE: Select this mode when connecting to wide-screen TV. A wide screen picture is displayed in full size.

Note

=Press the AV/SETUP button to exit setup menu after completion of initial settings.

=The "6" mark on the screen indicates that there are some items that cannot be displayed on screen. To display the concealed items, press the "6" button.

=This function may not operate on all discs.

3. Setting ANGLE MARK

=Press5or6to select ANGLE MARK item.

=Press 4 to access option item. =Press5or6to select option item.

=Press ENTER to confirm and press 3to return.

ON: When playing back a DVD disc recorded with a multi-angle feature, an angle indicator will display on the screen.

OFF: turns off the multi angle display indicator.

=This function only works for the discs recorded with the multi angle feature.
