2 Safety instructions

The manufacturer will not be held liable for claims for damage resulting from the following:

–Faulty assembly or connection,

–Damage to the device resulting from mechanical influences or excess voltage

–Alterations to the device without express permission from the manu- facturer

–Use for purposes other than those described in the installation manual

2.1Using the device

zOnly use the roof air conditioner for the purpose specified by the man- ufacturer and do not make any alterations or structural changes to the device.

zElectronic devices are not toys!

Keep electrical appliances out of reach from children or infirm per- sons. Do not let them use the appliances without supervision.

zPersons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capa- bilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely should not use this appliance without initial super- vision or instruction by a responsible person.

zDo not operate the roof air conditioner if the ambient temperature is below 0 °C.

zThe roof air conditioner is not suitable for use in agricultural or con- struction vehicles.

zOnly operate the roof air conditioner if you are certain that the housing and the cables are not damaged.

zThe roof air conditioner must be installed safely so that it cannot tip over or fall down.

zInstallation and repairing of the roof air conditioner may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks involved and the relevant regulations. Inadequate repairs can lead to considerable hazards. For repair service, please contact the service centre in your country (addresses on the back).

zDo not use the roof air conditioner near flammable fluids or in closed rooms.

zMake sure no combustible objects are stored or installed near the air outlet. A distance of at least 50 cm must be kept.

zDo not reach into air outlets or insert any foreign objects in the device.

zDo not undo the upper cover of the roof air conditioner in the event of a fire. Use approved extinguishing agents instead. Do not use water to extinguish fires.
