Center Speaker Setting
The default setting for the center speaker is 'On'. It must be left 'On' to enjoy the Dolby Digital soundtracks from DVD movies. It is not necessary to shut the center speaker off. When you play an audio CD, or a movie that only has a stereo soundtrack, no sound will be heard front the center speaker.

Rear Speaker Setting
The default setting for the rear speakers is 'On'. It must be left 'On' to enjoy the Dolby Digital soundtracks from DVD movies. It is not necessary to shut the rear speakers off. When you play an audio CD, or a movie that only has a stereo soundtrack, no sound will be heard from the rear speakers.
Highlight REAR using/ , then pressbutton to go to the right option list. Select ON or OFF using/ , then press ENTER to confirm your selection.

This setting allows you to create a slight delay in the sound coming from the center speaker compared to the front left and right speakers. This may be preferable if the center speaker is closer to your listening position than the front left and right speakers. The center delay options are "Off" (no delay), the default setting, to 5MS (5 milliseconds) delay.

Subwoofer Setting
Your system was supplied with speaker CONFIGURATION 1, which means 5 small satellite speakers that reproduce the mid range and high frequencies, and one subwoofer which reproduces all of the low frequency (bass) sounds. Since the Bass Mode setting is set to CONFIGURATION 1 (see page
34)you cannot adjust or turn off the subwoofer unless you first change the Bass Mode setting. The subwoofer setting must remain 'on' or you will not hear any bass sounds at all.

This may be preferable if the rear speakers are closer to your listening position than the front and center speakers. The rear delay options are "Off" (no delay), the default setting, to 15MS (15 milliseconds) delay.
