Defining your own drive type

If the parameters for your hard disk (listed in its documentation) do not match any of the types listed in the table above, you can define your own type. Follow these steps:

1.With the cursor at the Hard disk type option, press Page Up or Page Down to scroll through the types until you come to 47 = USER TYPE.

2.Use the numeric keys to enter the appropriate values for these parameters:

Cyln = the number of cylinders on the disk.

Head = the number of read/write heads in the drive.

WPcom = the precompensation cylinder.

LZone = the landing zone (the area on which the computer parks the heads when you run the HDSIT program).

Sec = the number of sectors on the disk.

Size = the total amount of storage capacity for the disk.
