1.4.4 Error Conditions

Thep rinter can detectvarious err ors and indicate them with LEDs.

1.4.5 Printer Initialization

There are three initialization methods: hardware initialization, software initialization, and panel

initialization.

1.4.5.1 HardwareInitialization

Hardware initializationi s performed by:

- Turning on the printer.

- Sendingthe parallel interface INIT signal.

(Ifthe INIT signal is active when the printer i s turned on, hardware initialization is started when the INIT

signalb ecomesi nactive.)

When the hardware initialization is performed:

- Thepr inter mechanism is initialized.

- Inputdata buffer is cleared.

- Downloadedcharacter de finitions are cleared.

- Printbuffer iscleared.

- Defaultvalues are set.

1.4.5.2 SoftwareInitialization

Softwareinitialization is performed upon receipt of the control code ESC @.

When the software initialization is performed:

- Printbuffer iscleared.

- Defaultvalues are set.

1.4.5.3 PanelInitialization

This printer is initialized by pressing the Load/Eject button while pressing the Alt button.

Whenthe panel initialization is performed:

- Inputdata buffer is cleared.

- Printbuffer iscleared.

- Defaultvalues are set.
