2.4.1 Ink Operations
Variousink ope rationscan be performed selectively by the printer.
1 PowerOn Operation
Thisoperation is per formed when power is turned on.
2 CleaningSelection Mode
This operation cleans each nozzle to ensure that the nozzle fires and that no dots are skipped
during printing. Cleaning selection is performed by pressing the cleaning switch (Alt +
Load/Eject or Economy/Condensed)while the printer isin PAUSE status.
3 MicroAbsorbing Cleaning Operation
This operation prevents an increase in the viscosity of the ink inside the printhead by ink
absorbingdischarge.
4 PowerOff Operation
This operation ensures the carriage is in the home position when the printer turns off, and
prevents the disengage gear from turning continuously when the printer turns off. Power off
operationis performe d when the secondary side switch is turnedoff.
5 PrintStart Operation
This operation eliminates ink from the nozzle surface, and is performed when the printer
receivesprint data whilein the standby state.
6 RefreshOperation
Thisoperation pr events an increase in the viscosity of the head ink.
7 StandbyOperation
Thisoperation pr events an increase in the viscosity of the head ink.
8 FalseAbsorbing Operation
Thisoperation absorbs ink inside the cap, and eliminates ink from thenozzle plate.
9 InkCartridge Replacement Operation
This operation is performed when the Alt button is pressed for more than 3 seconds; the carriage
thenm ovesto theink cartridge replacement position.
10 WipingOperation 1
Thisoperation elimina tes dust from the nozzle plate before performing the ink absorption.
11 WipingOperation 2
Thisoperation elimina tes dust or ink from the nozzle plate after performing the ink absorption.
12 RubbingOperation
Thisoperation re moves dust or ink that adheres to the head surface.
13 DisengageON Operation
This operation sets the switch lever to the position where it transmits the PF motor drive to the
pump mechanism. It also moves the carriage to the home position where the lever is set to the
specifiedposition.
