ProblemSolution

When you use an optional interface, the printer does not operate as expected.

The printout is garbled or the printer does not print.

The interface may not be configured correctly. If you are using a serial interface, make sure that both the computer and printer are set to use the same number of data bits per word and that they both use the same parity, baud rate, and number of stop bits. See your computer manual for the correct settings.

You may also need to change the DIP switch settings of your interface board. Before changing these settings, however, make sure the printer is turned off. See Chapter 4.

The optional interface may not be installed correctly. Turn off the printer and unplug the interface cable and power cable. Then check to see that the mating connector of the interface is plugged into the main board correctly. See Chapter 4.

You may be using the wrong interface cable. Check with your dealer to make sure you have the right cable. Also make sure that you are using a shielded cable.
