About the EPSON Status Monitor 2 Utility
The EPSON Status Monitor 2 utility comes with your printer and
is can be used with Microsoft Windows 95/98 or NT4.0. It allows
you to monitor your printer’s status, alerts you w hen printer
errors occur, and provides troubleshooting instructions when
needed.
Note:
To monitor an EPSON ColorPage EPL-C8000 printer on a network,
you must install an optional Ethernet interface card in your printer and
use the Status Monitor utility that comes with this card. See the manua l
that comes with the interface card for instructions on using the Status
Monitor in a network environment.
Before using the Status Monitor, be sure to read the README file
in the EPSON Status Monitor 2 folder, l ocated in the EPSON
folder on your hard drive. This file contains the latest information
on the Status Monitor.
Installing EPSON Status Monitor 2
Note:
If you installed the Status Monitor 2 utility when you installed the
printer software, you do not need to install it again.
To install Status Monitor 2, follow these steps:
1. Make sure Windows 95 is running. Insert the printer software
CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2. If a dialog box appears, click Quit button.
3. Click Start, and select Run.
4. Type D:\ ESM2 in the box. If you inserted the CD in a drive
other than drive “D”, substitute th e appropriate letter.
