The status display window above the tray is normally dimmer when a DVD is playing and brighter when it is paused or stopped.

■DIMMER OFF: The window remains bright, even when a DVD is playing.
■DIMMER ON: The window remains dim, even when a DVD is not playing.
■DIMMER AUTO: The window is dimmer when a DVD is playing and brighter when it is paused or stopped.
