enabled state.

Data Off Operation

DATA OFF suspends TX/RX data activity until it is re-enabled via DATA ON. When the data state is dis- abled, the display shows "DATA OFF" on the top line. The radio can be placed in the data disabled state by any of the following methods.

Declaring an emergency (not to be used unless an actual emergency condition exists). Alert tone will sound.

Pressing the OPTION button (if pre-programmed for no data key). Alert tone will sound.

Pressing the no data (ND) key (pre-programmed).

NOTE

If DATA OFF is active, neither ProFile nor MDT will function.

Data On Operation

DATA ON/OFF applies to all radio data (i.e., MDT and ProFile). DATA ON will be displayed on the top line in the display for two seconds then the display returns to nor- mal. The data state is enabled by one of the following (depending on how it was disabled).
