BLADE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
4.2.7Belt Guide Adjustment
a)Stop engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Remove key or spark plug wire(s).
b)Engage the blade drive belt.
c)Check belt guide under the engine deck for proper adjustment (See Figures 14 and 15). Adjust as necessary.
The disengaged belt should not drag or fall off pulley when guides are properly adjusted.
NOTE: These drawings are viewed from underneath the engine deck.

4.2.10Shifter lever adjustment
The shifter lever in neutral should not contact the upper or lower edge of the slot or the left edge of the upper slot or the right edge of the bottom slot (See Figure 16 and 17). The clearance should be equal. Adjust the shifter lever and shifter plate if necessary.
