MP3 stands for MPEG1 Layer 3, the global standard for audio com- pression, which can reduce file sizes up to 12 times without degrading sound quality.
M P 3 P L AY B A C K
Follow these steps to playback an MP3-CD:
1 I n s e r t M P 3 - C D
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the front panel to open the disc tray and insert your
•The first song in the first folder will begin playing automatically and the MP3 playback menu will appear.
•MP3 file names are shortened to 8 characters.
•The total track time and time remaining appear in the upper right corner of the screen.
2 B r o w s e M P 3 F i l e s
Use the UP/DOWN ARROW keys to browse up and down the list of MP3 files.
•While browsing, you can quickly jump to the currently playing selection by press- ing the LEFT ARROW key.
3 P l a y a n M P 3 F i l e
Press the ENTER key to begin playback of any highlighted file.
4 C h a n g e F o l d e r s
Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight the folder at the top of the current song list, then press ENTER. Pick a new folder, and then press ENTER to open it.
