6.2Vehicle Seat Belt Requirements

•The VEHICLEseat must face forward.

•DO NOTuse infant restraint on vehicle seats with seat backs that

willnot lockin an upright position. DO NOT use seats that can fold

downwithout having to release a lock or latch ofsome kind. These

seatscan flyforward and strike the child in a sudden stop or crash.

MANYSEAT BELT SYSTEMS ARE NOT SAFETO USE WITH THE

INFANTRESTRAINT. THEVEHICLE SEAT BELT MUST BE

DESIGNEDTO HOLD THE INFANTRESTRAINT TIGHTLY AT

ALLTIMES.

Paycareful attention to these systems; some of the seat belts that are

notsafe to use look very much like seat belts that are safe to use.If you

are unsure,consult your vehicle ownerÊ s manual or call Graco
