Use this diagram as a location and installation guide for your 60 Series water conditioner.
To simplify installation and servicing, your WaterMax appliance includes a bypass valve required by the uniform plumbing code. A bypass system also provides access to untreated water when required (i.e. for lawn and gardening purposes.) See page 5.
Installation tip: if the installation includes backfeeding the water heater for soft water service, a minimum of 10 feet of pipe is recommended between the outlet of the appliance and the inlet of the water heater. This reduces the potential for hot water backup into the WaterMax.
