Product Overview

The Roadster Orbital Movement system from High End Systems® utilizes a moving mirror head mounted on the front of a Christie Digital Roadster S+12/16 3-chip, DLP®–based projector to position a projected image anywhere in three-dimensional space. A power hub component mounts separately to allow DMX control of the Orbital Head movement and projector shutter, lamp, focus and zoom. It operates with the Catalyst® Media Server (a separate product that provides real-time video rendering) or independently as a standalone fixture on a DMX link.

The Roadster Orbital Movement System system ships with:

A Periscopic Dual-Mirror Orbital Head

A bracket kit for mounting the Orbital Head to a Christie Digital Roadster Projector

A Power Hub with truss mounting bracket

Cabling for XLR, RS-232 and power connections

A System using a dual Mirror Head and a Catalyst Media Server version 1.2 requires a DMX lighting console that can control 56 channels per fixture and support true 16-bit values on 15+ channels. The Wholehog III™, Hog iPC, Hog 1000, and Hog 500 lighting consoles are DMX controllers available from High End Systems to control the Catalyst system (see Accessories on page 2). Contact the controller’s vendor regarding Catalyst support on other DMX controllers. For more information on operating the fixture with a controller (or control device such as DMX control software), consult controller documentation.

A video wall, LED panel, or other video display may be required for a specific application.

The Roadster Orbital Movement System customized roadcase is available separately as part number 56010001.
