•The Cell Manager maintains the Catalog Database (CDB). This provides a minimum of 20 days of file and directory detail on the current database.
Estimating the size of the IDB
The Internal Database Capacity Planning Tool was used to estimate the size of the IDB in a year. The tool is located in the same directory as the rest of the Data Protector online manuals. Input parameters shown in Figure 93 on page 306 include the number of files in the environment (2 million), the growth factor (1.2), data protection (52 weeks), catalog protection (3 weeks), the number of full backups per week (1), and the number of incremental backups per week (5).
