Configure backup specifications as follows:
•DB_A...G
Backup specifications for each of the 7 IDBs and configuration files. Schedule the backup specification such that Data Protector will run a weekly full backup and a level one incremental every day, except Sundays at 03.00.
Why use differential (incr1) backups?
•To restore the latest data only two media sets need to be accessed, one for the latest full backup and one for the latest level 1 incremental backup prior to the restore
Two copies of the IDB and configuration files should be made, for security reasons.
•SAP_A...C
Backup specification for the SAP database servers in cells A, B and C, respectively. Use the staggering approach to avoid network load, device load, and time window issues as depicted in Table 26 on page 326:
