Description

The IBM ThinkPad 770 computer (hereafterThinkPadcalled the

 

 

computer

or thecomputer) is notebook-size

computer

that

feature

the

AT

bus architecture. Each computer supports one UltraBay II

and

one

internal hard disk

drive. The

ThinkPad

770 computer

also

supports

an internal CD-ROM

drive or an

internal

DVD

drive

as an

option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Programs can distinguish the foregoing computer model from other ThinkPad models by reading the system ID:

ŸInterrupt 15H

Ÿ Function code (AH)=23H and (AL)=10H.

ŸReturns (AL)=27H

The system microprocessor contains an internal cache and cache controller.

Figure 1-1 lists the model bytes, submodel bytes, and system clock speed of the system board for each model.
