8.4. Driver Installation

To install the Ethernet, VGA and Audio drivers, find the drivers from the correct directory and execute the execution files. All the related drivers are stored in the floppy diskettes or the panel PC tool CD under the following route;

PanelPC & Motherboard/Drivers & Utilities/PC 660

²ESS1938S Audio driver for Win95/98/ME

²ESS1938S Audio driver for WinNT

²ESS1938S Audio driver for Win2000

²RTL8139 Ethernet driver for Win95/98/2000/NT3.51/NT4.0/ME

²RTL8139 Ethernet driver for Client32/NWClient/NWServer/SCO

²C&T69000 (2MB video memory) VGA driver for Win95, Win98/ME, WinNT

²C&T69030 (4MB video memory) VGA driver for Win95, Win98/ME, WinNT

Please note that OPEN (660) also has two models; one is OPEN (660) with 2MB video memory and the other is OPEN (660) with 4Mb video memory.

The VGA chipset for OPEN (660) with 2MB video is C&T69000 and for OPEN (660) with 4MB video memory is C&T69030. OPEN (660) with different VGA chipsets need to be installed with different VGA drivers. Wrong drivers will lead mal-function or non-function to the systems.

Find the correct drivers and execute the execution files. Recent releases of operating systems always include setup programs that load automatically and guide you through the installation.
