SCSI IDs

Each device and host adapter on the SCSI bus must have a unique SCSI ID. It is recommended that the host adapter be left at its default ID of 7. Should it be necessary for the host adapter ID to be changed, use the OBP setenv command to change the scsi-initiator-id from 7 to the desired value. It will be necessary to change the SCSI ID of one or more of the adapters in a SCSI Clustered system because there will be more than one IntraServer CompactPCI® adapter on the same SCSI bus.

On a 16-bit (WIDE) SCSI bus, each device must have a unique SCSI ID from 0 - 15. All IntraServer CompactPCI® adapters default to ID 7. All other devices on the bus should be given Ids from 0 - 6 or 8 - 15. Refer to the target devices’ documentation setting the targets’ SCSI ID.

NOTE: Not all operating systems currently support SCSI IDs above 7. Refer to your specific operating system for details.
