This Procedure Includes the Following:

Replacing Battery Box Retaining Strap

WARNING

AfterANYadjustments,repairorserviceandBEFORE use, make sure all attaching hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.

REPLACING BATTERY BOX

RETAINING STRAP

WARNING

The Battery Box Retaining Strap MUST be fastened securely and adjusted properly to hold battery boxes in place before using the wheelchair.

RWD Wheelchairs (FIGURE 1)

1.Remove the battery boxes from the wheelchair. Refer to INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY BOXES in PROCEDURE 11 of this manual.

WARNING

The retaining strap MUST be fed through the adjust- able end of the battery box retaining strap buckle as shown in FIGURE 1.

2.Feed the existing battery box retaining strap through the adjustable end of the battery box retaining strap buckle.

3.Feed the existing battery box retaining strap through the slot in the battery box tray.

4.Feed the new battery box retaining strap through the inside of the slot in the battery box tray.

5.Feed the new battery box retaining strap through the adjustable end of the battery box retaining strap buckle.

6.Reinstall the battery box. Refer to INSTALLING/RE- MOVING BATTERY BOXES in PROCEDURE 11 of this manual.

FWD Wheelchairs (FIGURE 2)

1.Remove the battery boxes from the wheelchair. Refer to INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY BOXES in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.

2.Remove the two (2) hex bolts and locknut that se- cure the existing battery tray to the tray support.

3.Remove the existing battery tray from the wheelchair.

4.Position the new battery tray on the tray support as shown in FIGURE 2.

5.Secure the new battery tray to the tray support with the two (2) hex bolts and locknuts. Tighten securely.

6.Reinstall the battery box. Refer to INSTALLING/ REMOVING BATTERY BOXES in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.
