The complete system should be tested at regular intervals. We suggest testing it once every fortnight or at least once per month.
Real Time Clock battery
Your Watchguard Digital is equipped with a real time clock for logging alarm events and billing information. The battery for the Real Time Clock is located inside the Main Control Unit. Replacing or removing this battery will result in incorrect event logging and billing. Please DO NOT attempt to remove/replace this battery. If it ever fails, the unit must be returned to the manufacturer for replacement.

Manual Battery Test: Disconnect the Power Supply and ensure the system will arm and disarm from back up battery power only. If the system failed the test, then reconnect the power supply and allow it to charge for three hours before performing another test. Failing the test again will confirm that the battery needs to be replaced.
Main Control Unit Battery Replacement Procedure
Turn off the alarm system by turning the key switch to the ‘OFF’ position. Undo the unit and remove the cover.
Replace with a new battery of the same type.
