When thecontrolknobisturnedON, gas willflow intothe bumer. The solidstate igniter willclickuntilthe gas is ignited. (Note: All burnerigniterswillspark regardlessof which
burneris being operated.)
Aproperlyadjustedburnerwith clean portswill lightwithina few seconds. The cone- shapedflame willbe clear bluein colorwitha clearlydefinedinnercone. There should be no traceof yellowin the flame. If the burnerflame is yellow,lifts off the ports, or is noisy, the airgas mixture may be incorrect. Therefore,contact a service technician to make the needed adjustment.

In case of prolongedpowerfailure,you can manuallylightthe surface burnerbyholding
alightedmatchnear the burnerportsand slowlyturningthe controlknobcounterclock- wise (after depressing)to the Lite setting.
Caution: When lightingthe surface burner, be sure all of the controlsare in the OFF position.Strikethe matchfirst and hold itin positionbefore turningthe knob to the Llte position.
Note: Becauseyouroverhead hoodfan is electricit willnot workduringa power failure so smoke and condensationcan gather,
The Lo setting shouldproducea stableflame when turning the knob from HI to Lo. The flame shouldextendtothe outeredgeof the lip on the burner cap when adjustedfor the Lo setting. Plus,the flame mustbe stable on all ports on Lo setting.
To adjust: Operate bumer on Hi for about 5 minutes to preheat burner cap. Turn knob backto Lo; remove knob, and insert a small screwdriverintothe center of the valvestem. Adjustflame size by turningadjustmentscrew ineitherdirectionwhileholdingthevalve stem securely.
Flame mustbe of sufficientsize to be stable on all burnerports. If flame adjustmentis needed, adjustONLY on the Lo setting. Never adjustflame size on a highersetting.
Note; All gas adjustmentsshouldbe done by a qualifiedservicer only. 12
