When the oven controlsare set to CLEAN, the oven heats to temperaturesthat are

higherthan those used for cooking. The hightemperaturescausefood soilto burnoff and substantially disappear. While this occurs, a device in the oven vent helps to consume normal amounts of smoke. The oven is vented at the base of the backsplash.

Remove the masting/broiler pan and any other utensilsfrom the oven. These utensils cannot withstand the hightemperatures of the cleaning process.

Clean spattersand spillsfrom those areas which will notbe cleaned duringthe self. cleaning process:

-center front of oven and door near openingin door gasket.

-pomelain oven door liner (area outsidethe door gasket).

-oven front frame.

To clean these areas, use hot water and

detergent, nonabrasive cleansers or soap filled steel wool pads. Rinse thoroughly, being carefulnot to usean excessiveamount

of waterthat woulddampenthe door gasket. Soil/eft in these areas will be more difficult to

remove after the self-cleaning process since the high heat wit/bake on any soil that is

present. DO NOT USE COMMERCIAL OVEN CLEANERS TO CLEAN THESE AREAS.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN, RUB, OR APPLY WATER TO GASKET ON OVEN

DOOR. The gasket is essentialfor a good door seal. Rubbingor cleaningwill damage the gasket and may affect the seal.
