Seam guides are printed on needleplate, at both sides of needle, to help you line up the fabric and keep it straight. The standard seam width is 5/8°',So these lines are em- phasized, easy to follow. Also the cross lines on the Bobbin Cover Plate (4) are "cornering

guides" to help when turning a square corner 5/8" from the fabric edge. (For details on cornering, see page t5)
