12-5. Muting the audio upon reception of a phone call
Function of KDC-5057SD
The audio system automatically mutes when it receives an incoming call.
When a call comes in “CALL” appears.
The audio system pauses.
Listening to the audio during a call
Press [SRC].
The “CALL” display disappears and the audio system comes back ON.
When the call ends
Hang up the phone.
The “CALL” display disappears and the audio system comes back ON.
To use this function
•To use the TEL Mute feature, you need to hook up the MUTE wire to your telephone using a commercial telephone accessory. Refer to <Connecting wires to terminals> (page 12) in Quick start guide.
12-6. Demonstration mode setting
You can turn on/off the demonstration mode.
1Press [Control] knob.
Enters the Function setting mode.
2Select “DEMO Mode” using [Control] knob. For how to use [Control] knob, refer to
3Select a setting (“ON” or “OFF”) using [Control] knob.
Returns to the previous item.
Exiting from the Function setting mode Press and hold [1/6].
12-7. Initial settings
You can configure initial settings of this unit.
1Press [SRC] to select a Standby (“STANDBY”). Refer to <Source selection> (page 14).
2Press [Control] knob.
Enters the Function setting mode.
3Select “Initial Settings” using [Control] knob. For how to use [Control] knob, refer to

“SRC Select” | Set source selection method. |
| “1”: The source switches each time [SRC] is |

| sound) ON/OFF. |

| “20MIN”: Turns the power OFF after 20 |
| minutes. |
| “40MIN”: Turns the power OFF after 40 |
| minutes. |
| “60MIN”: Turns the power OFF after 60 |
| minutes. |
“aha Source”[2] | Sets whether to display aha during source |
| selection. |
| “ON” / “OFF” |
Sets whether to display AUX during source | |
| selection. |
| “ON” / “OFF” |
“CD Read” | Sets the method for reading CD. |
| When unable to play a special format CD, set |
| this setting to “2” to force playing. Note that |
| some music CDs may be unplayable even |
| when set to “2”. |
| In addition, audio files cannot be played when |
| set to “2”. Normally, keep this set to “1”. |
| 1: Automatically distinguishes between the |
| audio file disc and music CD when playing |
| a disc. |
| 2: Forces playing as a music CD. |
