8. Listen to the CD/ Audio file

8-1. Playing music

Playing a disc

Open the Disc slot cover upward.

Insert a disc in the Disc slot.

When it is inserted, the source is switched automatically and playback starts.

Close the Disc slot cover.

Playing a USB device

Connect a USB device to the USB terminal.

You can connect the iPod or USB device to either one of the USB terminals provided at the front and rear of this unit.

When it is connected, the source is switched automatically and playback starts.

Playing a SD card (Function of KDC-5057SD) Press the Release button and detach the Faceplate. (Refer to <Detaching/ Attaching the faceplate> (page 13))

Hold the SD card with the label side up and the notched section on the right, and insert it into the slot until it clicks.

Selecting a song (track or file) Press [E] or [F].

Fast-forwarding or fast-backwarding a song (track or file)

Press and hold [E] or [F].

Pause and play a song (track or file)

Press and hold [1/6].

Removing disc

Open the Disc slot cover upward.

Press [G].

Removing USB device

Press [SRC] to switch the source to a device other than USB, and then remove the USB device.

Data contained in the USB device may be damaged if you remove it when it is used as the active source.

Removing SD card (Function of KDC-5057SD) Press the Release button and detach the Faceplate. (Refer to <Detaching/ Attaching the faceplate> (page 13))

Push the SD card until it clicks and then remove your finger from the card.

The card pops up so that you can pull it out with your fingers.

8-2. Music search

You can select the music you want to listen to from the device or media being played now.

1Press [1/6].

“MUSICSEARCH” appears, and the Music search mode is selected.

When two USB memories are connected

When two USB memories are connected, you can search for a song in both USB memories. When database information is added using KENWOOD Music Editor (<8-9. About “KENWOOD Music Editor Light” and “KENWOOD Music Control”> (page 40)), you can search a song in only one USB memory.

8-3. Skip search

You can search for a song by skipping songs at the set skip search ratio (the ratio of the number of songs to skip to the total number of songs in the selected list).

1Press [1/6].

“MUSICSEARCH” appears, and the Music search mode is selected.

2Press and hold [Control] knob. Enter the Search select mode

3Select “Skip Search” using [Control] knob.
