Troubleshooting Guide

What might seem to be a malfunction in your unit may

just be the result of slight misoperation or miswiring. T Before calling ser ice, first check the following table

for possible prob rems.

General

?The power does not turn ON.

/The fuse has blown.

=After checking for short circurts in the wires, replace the fuse wrth one with the same rating.

/No ACC position on vehicle ignition.

=Connect the same wrre to the Ignition as the battery wire.

?Nothing happens when the buttons are pressed.

/The computer chip in the unit is not functroning normally.

=Press the reset button on the unit (page 5).

?There’s a source you can’t switch.

/There’s no CD Inserted.

m Set the media you want to listen to. If there’s no media in thus unit, you can’t swatch to each source.

?The faceplate does not open or close. (/ The faceplate is rncorrectly attached.

U=XReattach the faceplate correctly, See the section on <Removing the Faceplate>(page 16).

?The memory is erased when the ignition is turned OFF.

ti The battery wire has not been connected to the proper termrnal.

=Connect the wire correctly, referring to the sectron on <Connecting Wires to Terminals>.

fl The ignition and battery wire are incorrectly connected.

=Connect the wire correctly, referring to the section on 4onnectrng Wires to Terminals>.

?There’s no loudness effect.

/You’re using Non-fading preout.

=Loudness has no effect in Non-fading preout.

?The Bass center frequency, Bass quality factor, Bass extend, Middle center frequency, Middle quality factor, and Treble center frequency can’t be adjusted.

(/ The <System Q> (page 28) is set OFF. - Set it ON.

?No sound can be heard, or the volume is low.

fl The fader or balance settings are set all the way to one side. z* Center the fader and balance settings.

I/ The input/output wires or wrring harness are connected incorrectly. sip Reconnect the input/output wares or the wiring harness correctly.

See the section on <Connecting Wires to Termrnals>. (/ The values of Volume offset are low.

=Increase the values of Volume offset. (page IO)

/The <Built-in Amp Mute Setting> (page 28) is ON

=Turn it OFF.

?The sound quality is poor or distorted.

(/ One of the speaker wires is berng prnched by a screw in the car. QZZCheck the speaker wiring

(/ The speakers are not wired correctly.

=Reconnect the speaker wares so that each output terminal IS connected to a different speaker.

?Non-fading output, Non-fading Low Pass Filter and Non-fading setting can’t be done.

r/ The <Non-fading output> (page 16) is OFF.

=Turn it ON.

fl The <Dual zone system> (page 17) is ON.

=Turn it OFF.

?There’s no Front High Pass Filter and Rear High Pass Filter effect.

/The Non-fading preout is being used.

e There’s no effect in Non-fading preout.

?The Security Code item isn’t displayed in the Menu System.

/The Security Code function is already activated.

=When the Security Code function is activated it Isn’t displayed in the menu items.

?The Touch Sensor Tone doesn’t sound. (/ The preout jack is being used.

w The Touch Sensor Tone can’t be output from the preout jack.

?Even though the vehicle light switch is turned ON, the unit’s display won’t dim.

(/ The dimmer wire isn’t connected.

=Connect the dimmer wire correctly.
