Controlling a Separately Available Sony CD Changer

6Turn AMS until the track number you want appears, then press AMS (or press the number buttons and/or >25).

The selected track starts playing.

To control the deck again

Press MEGA CONTROL.

The MEGA CONTROL indicator goes off and you can control the deck.

zWhen “No Connect” appears in the display

Check the control A1 cable connection and make sure the CD changer mode selector is set to CD1.

zYou can perform the following operations in Mega CD Control mode

(: Play

P: Pause

p: Stop

0/): Backward/forward search

AMS (or =/+) : Select the disc number and track number

Number buttons and/or >25 on the remote: Directly select the disc number and track number

Notes

If a CD is not loaded to the selected disc number, “No Disc” appears in the display.

You can activate Mega CD Control mode regardless of whether or not an MD is loaded in the MD deck.

Mega CD Control mode is deactivated when:

You turn off the deck.

You eject the MD.

Using the display

You can use the display to check the disc and track information of the CD such as the total number of tracks, total playing time of the tracks, disc name and track name.

Track number Playing time

The play mode (e.g., PROGRAM, SHUFFLE) and repeat mode (e.g., REPEAT) shown in the display in Mega CD Control mode indicate the status of the CD changer.

zIf the CD is not labeled, DISC-5 appears in the display (when disc number “5” is selected)

zYou can switch to the MD display while recording

Each time you press DISPLAY, the display switches between CD display and MD display.

This feature is useful when you want to check the MD track being recorded. The display automatically returns to the CD display when CD play stops.

Note that the music calendar appears during recording or recording pause even while the display is set to CD display, letting you check the number of MD tracks.
