Chapter 12
Using the Battery
mWe recommend using only a Kodak EasyShare Li-Ion rechargeable battery.
Not all manufacturers 3.7V Li-Ion rechargeable batteries are compatible
with the camera. Damage caused by unauthorized accessories is not
covered under warranty. Purchase accessories at a dealer of Kodak
products or www.kodak.com/go/accessories.
For acceptable battery life, and to make sure your camera operates
dependably, Kodak does not recommend or support other
batteries.
mTo lengthen battery life, limit the following activities:
Using Liveview (using the camera screen as the viewfinder, see
page 18)
Reviewing your pictures on the camera screen (see page 41)
Excessive use of the flash
mDirt on the battery contacts can affect battery life. Wipe the contacts with a
clean, dry cloth before loading batteries in the camera.
mBattery life depends significantly on battery age and usage conditions.
Digital cameras are demanding on batteries. Not all batteries perform well
under these challenging conditions.

mBattery performance is reduced at temperatures below 41° F (5° C).

Carry spare batteries when using your camera in cold weather, and keep
them warm. Do not discard cold batteries that do not work; when they
return to room temperature, they may beusable.
mDo not allow batteries to touch metal objects, including coins. Otherwise, a
battery may short circuit, discharge energy, become hot, or leak.
