Taking pictures using the AF lock

For special situations where AF may not work (page 33):

1Set the AE/AF Lock button to AF.

2Place the framing marks on the main subject.

3Press the AE/AF Lock button.

4Recompose the picture and press the Shutter button halfway to lock the exposure position.

5 Press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

NOTE: The AF lock function lets you release the Shutter button to recompose the picture.

Using the program button

You can program this button in Capture and Review. The button is a shortcut to your favorite settings. For example, if you frequently adjust the White balance settings, you can program this button to bring up the White balance sub-menu—no need to access the menu to search for it. The Program button may be unavailable in some modes.

(Press again to exit.)

3 Press OK or Set.

NOTE: The Program button assignment is kept until you change it in Setup menu or reprogram it by holding the Program button.

To program the sub-menu that is open on your screen, hold the Program button 3 seconds.
