24 Text Messaging
6TEXT MESSAGING
This chapter describes how to send, receive, and
erase text messages from your phone. For
information on voicemail messages, see
“Voicemail” on page15.

Sending text messages

You can send text messages to phones that are
capable of receiving them or to email addresses

Creating a text message

1. Select Menu Messaging Send text msg.
Tip: Press right to access a shortcut to
the text message screen.
2. Enter a recipient’s phone number or
emailaddre ss manually

Press to select Options and then select
Recent list or Contacts.
Select a contact and press .
Highlight the number field and press .

To learn how to enter symbols, see “Entering
symbols” on page 18.
To add multiple recipients:
Enter a space after the first number then
enter another recipient.

Press to select Options then select
Recent list, Contacts, or Groups. Highlight
a contact and press .
Note: You can send a message to a maximum
of 10 recipients. The messages are sent o ne at
a time, once to each recipient. Standard text
messaging charges apply for each recipient.
3. When you are done entering addresses,
press twice.
4. Enter the message

Add auto text, symbols, or smiley’s in your
message. See “Including prewritten text
andsymbols” on page 25 for information.
5. Press to select Send. See “Setting sending
options” on page25 for information about
how and when you want the message to be
received.
