Whenyouarenotusingthewirelessfeatures,suchasBluetoothorwirelessLAN,turnthemoff.Thiswill
helpconservepower.T oturnoffthewirelessfeatures,pressFn+F5orusethewirelessradioswitch.
Enablingthewakeupfunction
Ifyouputyourcomputerintohibernationmode,andthewakeupfunctionisdisabled(thisisthedefault
setting),thecomputerdoesnotconsumeanypower.Ifthewakeupfunctionisenabled,itconsumesasmall
amountofpower .Toenablethefunction,dothefollowing:
1.ClickStart➙ControlPanel➙SystemandSecurity➙AdministrativeTools.
2.Double-clickTaskScheduler.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswor dorprovideconrmation.
3.Fromtheleftpane,selectthetaskfolderforwhichyouwanttoenablethewakeupfunction.The
scheduledtasksaredisplayed.
4.Clickascheduledtask,andthenclicktheConditionstab.
5.UnderPower,selectthecheckboxforWakethecomputertorunthistask.
Enablingthebatteryalarm
Programyourcomputersothatwhenthebatterypowerfallsbelowacertainlevel,threeeventsoccur:
•Thealarmgoesoff.
•Awarningmessageisdisplayed.
•TheLCDisturnedoff.
Toenablethebatteryalarm,dothefollowing:
1.StartthePowerManagerprogram.
2.ClicktheGlobalPowerSettingstab.
3.ForLowbatteryalarmorCriticallylowbatteryalarm,setthepercentageofthepowerlevelandset
theaction.
Note:Ifyourcomputerenterssleeporhibernationmodewhenthebatteryislow,butthealarmmessage
hasnotyetdisplayed,themessagewillbedisplayedwhenthecomputerresumes.Toresumenormal
operation,pr essOK.
Handlingthebattery
ThissystemsupportsonlybatteriesspeciallydesignedforthisspecicsystemandmanufacturedbyLenovo
oranauthorizedbuilder.Thesystemdoesnotsupportunauthorizedbatteriesorbatteriesdesignedforother
systems.Ifanunauthorizedbatteryorabatterydesignedforanothersystemisinstalled,thesystemwill
notcharge.
Attention:Lenovohasnoresponsibilityfortheperformanceorsafetyofunauthorizedbatteries,and
providesnowarrantiesforfailuresordamagearisingoutoftheiruse.
Note:Ifanunauthorizedbatteryisinstalled,thefollowingmessagewillbedisplayed:“Thebatteryinstalled
isnotsupport edbythissystemandwillnotcharge.PleasereplacethebatterywiththecorrectLenovo
batteryforthissystem”.
